Twenty First Century Classroom

Last week I taught a design and illustration workshop at BBC 21CC;  an awesome, informal digital learning studio space for students to explore creative ways of using multimedia and new technology.  As part of an ongoing project, the students I was working with will be sharing multimedia climate change research across an interactive 3d networking software similar to Second Life.  As part of the development of this online virtual world I guided the students in creating patterns and outlines which we later scanned and edited in Illustrator and photoshop to create avatars which will be made 3dimensional and used within the programme.  Here’s a few of the awesome avatars which were created by students in my workshop.  It was a monumentally exhausting, yet enormously satisfying and enjoyable day.
