It’s raining, please get out of my way.

There is no doubt some law of physics that states the relationship between a person’s sense of urgency and the purposefulness of their stride, and the inevitability that the person walking in front of them will have small children, a wet umbrella, an obesity of some sorts that slows them down to the speed of a gerbil or a new pair of legs that haven’t been tested on urban ground material such as concrete.

With this law in action when I’m shloshing through town, bag soaked, hair hopeless and good humour in the gutter I try to remind myself that when there’s a will, there is always a way.
