In case you hadn’t seen it
Here’s my illustration from the recent issue 13 of Plus1 magazine. I mentioned it before but I thought I’d post the full spread, title and text and all. I illustrated an article written by the talented Jo Barton who, in an article based on a topic quite possibly destined to be quite the hearty serving of philosophical jargon nevertheless doesn’t fail to mention Rachel Steven’s breasts within the first two sentences and is therefore a success from the get-go. A good read, if you’re one of the many wondering whether music is pushing things forward, looking backwards or just plain going round in circles…

And just in case you didn’t pick up a copy of issue 12, here’s my illustration for an interview with Ducktails main man Matthew Mondanile, who chats enthusiastically about his metier as babysitter, cassette tape predilection, and penchant for palm trees. Oh, and his secret desire to just record music all alone in a tool shed… screw Abbey road, get yourselves down to Gardener’s World, people.
K Interiors
Because the closest to changing rooms she’ll ever be -thanks to her abundance of taste-is moving into her new barn unit in staffordshire, it’s all hectic and busy for my friend Kate right now who has just started up an interiors business focusing on soft furnishings. Amidst unpacking sewing machines, etc she’s been choosing paper and chatting away in an accent only a brummy could love. I’ve designed her logo and we’ve got some lovely printed products coming very soon. It’s all very exciting.

Grounds for aqcuisition

Swedish artist Finsta has a book out today. Despite previous threats from other half of removing hands next time money is directed towards paper products that don’t have united utilities printed on the upper left hand corner, I’ve been so good and have hardly bought any magazines or books in at least 3 days…
